Although eating an all-organic diet is very expensive, with a little ingenuity and savvy shopping, you can minimize the cost greatly. This is especially true of produce-heavy foods like pizza. Fortunately, making a healthy organic pizza doesn’t have to put a dent in your wallet. Here are some tips.

Make Your Own Crust

Select a quality organic flour to make your own crust from. This helps you avoid pre-made products that, although they claim to be organic, can still contain non-organic or GMO ingredients.

Source Veggies Carefully

Buying organic peppers, onions and other toppings from your neighborhood supermarket can make for a very costly pizza. If possible, source your veggies from your local farmer’s market, co-op or community garden as the prices are often much lower.

Don’t Worry About Mushrooms

While you can buy organic mushrooms, it really isn’t necessary. Due to modern growing methods, these fungi aren’t terribly vulnerable to pests, and therefore don’t need to be sprayed. Save yourself a stack of cash and buy conventional in this case.

Choose Cheese Wisely

It’s very important to be picky about the cheese you use. Conventional dairy is loaded with artificial growth hormones, antibiotics and GMO residue from feed. This is one area where it’s essential to go organic. To offset the cost, consider using less cheese.

The choice to eat healthy and live a better lifestyle is rooted in eating well at all times. This means that even when you are craving pizza you want to make sure that the pizza you eat is good for in terms of being organic and free of hormones, pesticides and other chemicals. This is why you can find organic pizza in various places. large cities such as Miami has plenty of organic restaurants that offer pizza and you can also find plenty of options for home when you go through the organic frozen food section of your local grocery store. You can be sure that when you switch to an organic way of eating that you are helping yourself in that you are only eating foods that are clean and green; which in turn helps you have a better diet in general. Organic pizza is also a great way to get yourself introduced to organic eating as it tastes, smells and satisfies just the same as pizza that is not organic.

It’s no mystery that Organic Pizza has become more and more popular. The smell of fresh mozzarella married with sweet basil will make anyone stop and wonder why they never tried a REAL slice of the PIE!

There’s something about Organic Pizza that leaves you feeling satisfied, yet not weighed down. The great thing is you don’t have feelings of guilt to go along with eating something you love.

With more people eating healthier, the one thing that seems to be hard to find to continue eating healthy is pizza, so now there are several ways to make an organic pizza. There are organic pizza that tastes good and easy to make. This offers the ones with the taste of pizza and having the pizza you are craving.

The secret pizza sauce is making twelve to fourteen pounds of fresh or canned tomatoes that are cored and skinned once this is done then you add celery, chopped onions, bell peppers and one or up to three chopped garlic cloves with Italian seasoning.

Once you have mixed the ingredients and have all ingredients put together over the lowest of heat for a few hours until the mixture is thickened and rich. Once the pizza sauce has reached the thickness, you should cool the sauce and pour it into cartons that you can freeze. With it filling at least eight- one-pint containers. Just as you did with the pizza sauce for the organic pizza, you can prepackage the cheese and sausage if you want sausage on the pizza. Getting the cheese in six-pound blocks then shred it and you can freeze this in one-pint cartons. Following the same if you choose sausage to be on the pizza as you can buy it grounded and seasoned.

Once it is time to prepare dough for the pizza crust preparing the pizza dough ahead as you did the other ingredients works out great and it makes for an easily and quickly made pizza. Using whole wheat bread and or different bread loaves that you and your family enjoy all you need to do for the pizza dough is to leave dough aside to season it for pizza’s. Mixing in the ingredients that you choose with the dough and freeze this as well making sure you mark it with ” Pizza dough” on it as it will have seasons in it that your bread loaves will not.

The Benefits of Eating Organic Pizza vs. Regular Pizza

Many do not consider what kind of pizza they are consuming. There are both organic, and regular pizzas to choose from when deciding to consume pizza. There are many benefits of eating organic pizza rather than regular pizza. What one may not realize is that eating a healthy version of what they eat on a daily basis can improve their health significantly. Organic pizzas are only filled with all natural ingredients. The entire pizza is formed out of all organic foods. This often leads to a stronger and healthier body. Without preservatives or artificial flavors, an organic pizza can be an explosion of flavor. Regular pizzas can often have huge lists of ingredients, some that can’t be pronounced without excessive effort. Understanding the benefits of eating organic pizza as opposed to regular pizza is ideal. An organic pizza can also help save on energy when making the pizza. This energy can help nature preserve the unnecessary energy. An avoidance of chemical residues on the pizza is also decreased. Many should look into eating organic pizza if they are not familiar. Organic choices will improve the world as well as one’s health.

Making the choice of organic foods can reduce the chemicals and toxins that we are exposed to through traditional food choices. When it comes to pizza, organic choices can be healthier from the flour that is chosen, as it has been grown from wheat plants, to the vegetables that have been grown without the harmful exposure to pesticides that is commonplace in non traditional pizza recipes.
When choosing the meats and cheese for pizza toppings, the choice of organic options ensures that the meat and cheese is going to have a reduced exposure to hormones and other components that can disrupt the natural cycles of the body, as well as the exposure to antibiotics that non organic meat and cheese is exposed to.
The choice is organic pizza is the healthier choice – but organic ingredients are often higher in price than their non-organic counterparts. Shopping through farmers market and local sources to find organic products are often less expensive than visiting the organic bakery, organic markets and even the organic section at the local grocery store. Plus, shopping local can ensure that you know where the ingredients being used on the pizza are coming from – giving peace of mind feeding these items to the family.

Organic pizza is a delicious and healthy alternative to one of America’s favorite foods. These are two of the best organic pizza recipes that will keep you in tip top condition as you indulge.

Whole Wheat Crust Pizza

A thin whole wheat crust pizza is full of essential vitamins your body needs. Make your dough out of whole wheat flour and with a ¼ teaspoon of rising yeast. Work the dough with your hands for 5 minutes and let it refrigerate for at least an hour. For topping choices, try olive oil with tomato, basil, and finely chopped romaine lettuce. Another idea is fresh mozzarella, romano, garlic powder, and marinara sauce.

Flatbread Pizza

This is a simple and organic recipe to cook up. Buy pita bread or whole wheat flatbread and make a crispy and appetizing pizza. If the pizza is to be vegan, use lemon juice and a wide variety of vegetables as a topping. If its vegetarian, use a four cheese blend with garlic, sea salt, and herbs. Bake the pizza in the oven for at least 30 minutes so it is crunchy and fresh to eat. You can also make this pizza with store bought pizza dough.
